Tips Before Choosing Resorts

Before you start seeking the best luxury resort in Mukteshwar, it’s important to understand why you should go for them in the first place while on an Uttaranchal or Himalayan expedition. A vast majority of tourists visiting Uttarakhand prefer to stay in resorts to enjoy a nice, serene time in the Himalayas. Popular locations include Mukteshwar and Nainital. Therefore, here’s the classification, brief about architecture and important perks of opting for resorts.

The Classification

Resorts are isolated, self-contained commercial places that cater to different needs and requirements of guests, ranging from food and lodging to entertainment and even shopping. In some cases, the term resort can be used for a hotel property that offers a wide array of amenities, ranging from entertainment to adventure activities.

Resorts need not always be a commercial establishment operated by a single organization or a single individual. A resort can also be a condominium complex that is time-shared or owed fractionally by a number of individuals and/or organisations. Resorts became a worldwide phenomenon during the 20th century. Presently, the resort market is an important niche in the travel and hospitality industry not just in India but also across the world.

Bäder Architecture – The Resort Architecture

Though most resorts near Mukteshwar and elsewhere follow hotel architecture, most spas and seaside resorts in the West follows an architectural theme termed Bäder architecture. The original resort style appeared for the first time over 200 years ago, 1793 AD, in Germany. It started to flourish in other parts of Europe in 1870. At present, it is followed by several top resorts around the world.

The architecture is most notably followed by recreational resorts offering spa and massage services, especially near coasts. Single mansions serving as resorts are also termed as Bädervilla, a German word which translates to Resort Mansion or Spa Villa. Another type of architecture followed by health spas, especially in Central Europe and the Czech Republic, is called Kurarchitektur (meaning spa architecture in English).

Things You Should Know About Booking Accomodation

Maybe it has to do with something anthropological, but for some reason, human beings seem to feel a great sense of excitement and wonder when they travel, as though it harkens back to a time when our ancestors may have wondered from place to place in search of food & shelter. Obviously, things have changed, and we’ve traded in our nomadic search for a place to temporarily call home for booking accommodations for our travel.

Being able to get away from the world is a great feeling, with the only real issue pertaining to where we choose to stay for the duration of our trip. Booking a hotel room isn’t the most fun thing in the world. For starters, you want to have a nice room that has all of the essentials, but determining what the “essentials” are can vary from hotel to hotel. You want to stay close to the action and not miss out (young people call this FOMO or fear of missing out), but you don’t want the neon signs & buzz of traffic just outside your window. Finally, you want to feel as though you’re actually in a “home away from home” when you stay at a hotel, but every time you think you’ve got things worked out, you end up disappointed.

The crazy part of the process is that we haven’t even mentioned getting a good price for your accommodations.

In some ways, it can feel as though the entire travel & accommodations industry is out to get you, and this feeling can really be the bucket of cold water you don’t need on what should be a relaxing trip. Even when you travel for business, you still want to know that you don’t have something just aching to ruin your travel. Luckily, however, hotel managers are more on your side than you think.

You might think that hotel managers & the industry as a whole are in it for themselves, but they are also aware that if you have a nice stay and few problems with booking accommodations, you’re likely to be a return customer, and that always helps their bottom line. Your happiness & satisfaction also end up being very powerful advertising, once again a good thing for business.

Here is what hotel managers want prospective customers to know about booking accommodations:

Contact the Hotel Directly – Third-party apps and websites can find you very nice deals on hotel pricing, but do know that it’s always a good idea to contact the hotel directly for particular requests you may have. This personal touch makes you stand out.

Be Friendly to the Staff – When calling the hotel or interacting with the front desk, maintaining a pleasant demeanor with staff can go a long way in making your stay a great one.

Have All Pertinent Information Ready to Go – Booking your stay at a hotel means knowing check-in/out times, length of stay, and dates. Being prepared makes booking go much smoother.

Booking accommodations can sometimes be a headache, but knowing that hotel managers are actively seeking to make your travel as great as possible makes booking one less thing to worry about. It is also important to remember that as a consumer, you have more influence than you think, so be active in the booking process, but not forget to be nice as well.

All About Great Hotel

Choosing a hotel for a business trip or a vacation is a big deal. You want the best place you can get, no one wants to be stuck in a dirty, sketchy place where you don’t find it safe to even sit on the bed let alone get in it. But how do you know which hotel is a good hotel? It isn’t really about room size or how big the towels are, but instead most people agree it’s the little things that make a hotel feel like home.

If the hotel staff is helpful, friendly and show a lot of hospitality, you know you’re in the right place. It also of course helps that the lobby is well lit and clean as this is a precursor of things to come. If you can check in without a hitch and your key card actually works for your room you’re in business. Careless check in and key cards that just won’t allow you into your room, the pool, the gym, etc just aren’t good enough in this day and age.

Next is location. If you are going on vacation to a specific place, like a theme park or a monument, you will want a hotel that is close enough so that you aren’t traveling for hours on end once you get to your destination. Thankfully with the internet, you can look at where hotels are in respect to where you want to go before you even leave home.

And then there are the amenities, those things that make your stay more enjoyable and more like home. We’re talking comfortable, clean beds, lots of nice things in the bathroom to use, a good amount of towels, in room coffee and tea, clean glasses and cups, a decent television and free WiFi. An in room microwave and fridge are also great amenities, especially if you are traveling with kids, but are also great to keep and reheat your dinner leftovers later on when you get peckish.

With online reviews you can get a pretty decent picture of most hotels on your list. And with so much competition chains are striving to be bigger and better than their competitors down the street which is only good news for us, the travelers and the ones actually staying in the rooms.

Another good thing to look for is perks that hotels give for repeat guests. Play your cards right and you may just get a free night!

Wonderful Trip In Iceland

Accompanied by the serenity and vastness of the North Atlantic Ocean, Iceland serves as one of the most peaceful yet extraordinary retreats for the aspirant ones who find salvation in travelling around the world. It in-fact has been ranked as the most peaceful country of the world by the Global Peace Index of 2017.

The quietude of the country along with the abundance of natural marvels is incomparable as well as astounding. Intense volcanic and tectonic activity that happened in the past gradually led to the formation of distinctive land forms that are nowhere to be seen in any other part of this planet. Apart from natural brilliance Iceland is also known for its bustling night life full of parties and entertainment.

Here are your tips to enjoy Iceland Travel with adventure and serenity
Firstly, it is always best to prepare before the trip. This should be everyone’s first step to enjoy a hassle-free experience amidst the scenic heritage of the world’s most peaceful country. Due to the inflating amount of tourists every single thing ranging from hotels to flights and transport services gets flooded and so instant bookings become a vague possibility.

Consulting a travel guide and tour operator would be the most effective thing to do because such agencies can help fix accommodations, flight bookings and tour packages at affordable rates. If the traveler pursues his/her journey by pre-booking all the necessities there will be no hindrances in the future.

Such measures are suitable especially during holiday seasons such as Christmas, when millions of tourists flood the entire country to enjoy invigorating moments. It even becomes impossible to get instant bookings for holiday activities like taking a fresh dip in the Blue Lagoon.

Places you can go for
One of the best tours for Iceland would be around the Golden Circle. This part of Iceland encompasses volcanic terrain, glaciers, beautiful farmhouses for leisurely stops, an earthquake exhibition center, the Thingvellir National Park and the highly renowned Gulfross Waterfall.

One will have several options to learn about the Icelandic culture and geography, witness nature, venture into thrilling parts such as volcanic craters or perhaps ice-formed caves and altogether obtain spiritual bliss amidst the breath-taking falls.

Other popular destinations include a tour to the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), which is also a very occasional event and the Southern Coast. The southern Icelandic parts also include popular tourist destinations such as hot water springs and the world famous black beaches (coastal regions shrouded by black sand).

What can we summarize?
It’s safe to say that one single visit to Iceland is not enough to fulfill a traveler’s wanderlust. The country has so many naturally enriched destinations, adventure-filled spots and a colorful city like Reykjavik that it indeed lures people back again.

The tourism industry has progressively expanded with a significant rise in international visits every year. This in-turn has solved various regional as well as economical issues of the country. The amount of tourists has reached thrice as higher than the native population and is likely to grow even more due to the distinctive features which this beautiful snow-capped country offers.

With pre-booking methods and help from significant operators tourists will have all the comfort they need during the trip. Such agencies suitably arrange mini-bus tours, accommodations and also include extra-tour-breaks for the leisurely delight of visitors. Hence, over-crowded places can be avoided and people can travel in luxury, altogether enjoying the sublimity of the Icelandic heritage without having to go through a scarcity of hotels.

Parking Issues In Every Country

A common dream is to see the places you see in movies. The most common is dreaming to visit the United States and to name a few are Chicago, Washington, Miami, LA, New York, Boston and so on. These have the resources and there is nothing to stop you from seeing these places in reality.

If you are fortunate and have relatives, you can travel solo and the key is to have an appropriate visa. Visit the US with a B1 or B2 visa that refers to a non-immigrant visa. This is given to people desiring to see the US for medical treatment, pleasure or business. Applying for visa means you should show a sponsorship letter from a close family member or by your employer to get a residency permit.

You will have to answer question in the embassy, so determine the purpose of the trip and avail the right tourist’s visa. Bear in mind to show that you have sufficient money to bear your expense during the trip, besides air tickets, insurance, transportation and other tourism expenses.

If you are from the Europe or USA, travel to Asia sunny part. It offers the comfort of technology and different culture. If you love shopping, visit Bangkok and enjoy shopping galore all day and night. The night market is full and the beaches are inviting.

The Philippines is also a vibrant and colorful country featuring tourist destinations. The culture is different in each island based on the religious festivals. Enjoy different spots such as scuba diving and the beaches white sands.

If you belong to Asia, travel to snowy places or sunny places, of the USA and Europe. Visit the Las Vegas or Hollywood and see the city at night as it comes to life. Taste the snow in winters. Visit the Hawaii and enjoy the fun culture, the poi and the hula girls. Get a firsthand experience with the volcanoes. They are the best places to retire and explore. Plan your itinerary and ensure the best of your trip.

With it comes the major cities experience that includes lots of struggles regarding parking. The parking is a task even to the residents. Individuals living in big cities such as Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Washington and San Francisco are aware of the fact that finding a parking spot is time-consuming task and very difficult.

Major cities are compelled to deal with the parking spaces chronic shortage issue, whether it is on the street or in the garages. Moreover, the large cities in most areas have to pay on weekdays and Saturdays for on-street parking, whereas it is free for parking on Sundays.

Looking for parking is frustrating and very stressful. The usual complaints are:

  • No enough space, spaces are far away, too much parking cost, where to park, double-parking or finding and parking in an illegal spot.
  • Car getting towed, non-availability of parking permit, rude parking staff

The Difference Between USA and Europe

So, to the meat and potatoes (arroz y habichuelas in Puerto Rico)! These observations are purely facts (with a little bit of my opinion thrown in) and not listed in any particular order. Thanks for reading this far! I’m sure you’ll enjoy the rest. Of course, I have to mention that I did lump Europe, a continent composed of 50ish countries (depending on your political views), into one entity, but I was careful to select things that I have personally seen and experienced in at least a couple different countries in Europe. So, that should count for something, right?

1. Smoking
I remember a time in the US when you would go to a restaurant and they would ask you, “Smoking or non-smoking?” Now, everything is non-smoking. Most public places are smoke-free zones. As a non-smoker, I love this. However, moving to Europe may not have been the wisest place to move for a non-smoker who is bothered by the smell.

The Europeans smoke – in public, at home, or wherever they want. Granted, there are some locations where you’ll see a no-smoking sign, but they’re few and far between, especially if you want to go out for nightlife. And even if there is no smoking indoors, there are, without fail, at least three smokers sitting right in front of the door of whatever non-smoking establishment. Europe seems to be receiving the “smoking is bad for you” rhetoric and scientific evidence to back it up, just a little bit later than the US. Although, I am aware that France is aggressively tackling the issue and has seen decent results.

2. Driving
I cannot say with any confidence that European drivers are worse than American drivers. I can say that certain driving expectations are different and therefore affect how drivers act. For example, on European highways there are not exits every 12 miles with food and gas options, like in the states. Or, that Americans will pass you on the right side, but this is blasphemy in Europe. Or, that you can turn right on red in America, but this is illegal in Europe. And, my personal/least favorite, there are no highway cops, and any ticket you’ll get will come from a (sometimes cleverly hidden) camera on the side of the road that flashes a bright white light of guilt at you, and you get to lament speeding, all the way home.

3. Food
Americans are the undisputed champions of food consumption. Food is cheap and accessible. The grocery store in the states is quite similar to a European grocery store, but just add two more cereal aisles, a full chips-candy-soda aisle, three more health food aisles, remove the wine and beer aisle(s), and voila, the stores are identical.

At restaurants, if you order a large meal in the states, you expect to take home what you didn’t finish. In Europe, typically the rations aren’t large enough that there will be any food left, but if you request to take the food home you may received some confused stares, and may possibly leave empty handed.

4. Nature Calls
In America, if you gotta go, it is quite easy to find a restroom at a gas station or a public place (excluding New York). In Europe there are several countries that charge you to use the toilets at gas stations and in public places, but there are some others that simply don’t even have a toilet to offer. If you are accustomed to not going before you leave the house in the states, when you travel to Europe, I wouldn’t recommend taking that chance.

5. Customer Service
We all knew it was coming. Anyone who has been to Europe (or Europeans who have visited the US) knows that most European countries are not known for their stellar customer service (*cough, cough* France & Germany *cough, cough*). Shoot, if you have ever seen a movie or heard someone else talk about their trip to Europe, you probably knew that!

A poor customer service experience in Europe is one of those things that isn’t always as bad as it sounds, but it will for sure happen to you at least once; just like in the US! But, the differences are the motives and your recourse. In the US, customer service in restaurants is over-the-top because waiters work for tips. In Europe, they don’t, so kissing your butt is not vital to their livelihood. Also, in Europe, there is no Better Business Bureau, so if a bank teller or store owner is rude to you, you just have to suck it up and not shop there anymore.

So, what do you think?
If you visited Europe and the US, what differences have you seen? Am I 100% right or only 99% right?

Take photos

You may think that photos are taken while you are there in the destination country. It’s not the whole truth. What you need to do is use your smartphone to take photos of important documents, such as medical prescriptions, passport and other documents that you may need. Instead of carrying around a lot of files, you can use the digital copies of those documents.

Get paper copies

Of course, you need to keep your passport with you while you are in a foreign country. It’s better to keep a photo copy as well.

Hold newspapers

It’s better to hold any newspaper that you may have subscribed to. This is to keep the burglars from knowing that you are away for a few days.

Consider a house sitter

When you are away, it’s better to have someone in your house. You can consider someone in your community for this job.

Look for a gardener

If you have a lawn in your house, the plants need to be watered and taken care of while you are away. Therefore, make sure you ask someone to do the job. You may even pay them for the service.

Remove the spare key

Some people have a spare key to their house in case they need it in an emergency. If you also have one, make sure you remove it or take it with you.

Drop the curtain

Burglars may look into your house if the curtains are not dropped. So, make sure you drop all of the curtains before you leave your house.

Activate a timer

To reduce the likelihood of burglary even further, consider installing a timer to turn on a few lights at night automatically.

Switch off water supply

You may consider turning off the water supply to different appliances in your house, such as ice-makers, dishwashers, washing machines and toilets.

Unplug other devices

Obviously, no one will be using the appliances when you are gone. So, it’s better to turn off your computer, toasters and ovens, to name a few.

Check your wallet

Make sure your wallet has only the times you will need while you are in another country.

Pay the bills

Bills must be paid before the expiry of the due date or you may have to pay fees for late payment.

So, if you are going to travel in the new future, we suggest that you consider the tips given in this article. This will help you keep your house and get the most out of your tour.

Explore The Beauty of Milan

As much as I am passionate about roaming in airports and cruise ports and train stations, enjoying and wondering of the dynamics of the travelers there are a few things that for sure can take you out of your comfort zone

For me is seeing or being approach by beggars,

Although I love traveling alone, mostly for my last minute changes, today I felt a little vulnerable being alone and the target, in the Central Milán train station, this lady was probably 55 or 60 perhaps not Italian, I was seating in front of Juice Bar restaurant eating a delicious and warm sandwich, after 2 bites, this lady approached begging for a piece of bread, to me and to the other group of people eating right beside me. she would not move and kept asking for a piece of bread, she kept saying “a piece of bread please, please ” needless to say I couldn’t swallow any more bites, Also due to the fact that her finger pointing my sandwich was about 1 cm away from it, I decided to offer her the bread, so I lifted my 4″ long sandwich and offered to her, she looked at it, and to my surprise she doesn’t accept it and say:: is that fish?

I go no, just take it, is not fish.

She put her fingers on it and would not take the bloody sandwich!!

The girl next tAble starts to talk to her, in despite all her friends told her not to,

So this kind lady tells her, there is no fish sandwich, beggar insisted, yes yes fish sandwich. Kind lady grab her purse, stand up and say “I will buy you the sandwich” and then the moment of truth, the beggar said, no no I’ll buy it, give one euro please please!

By then I have already left the sandwich. Grab my bags and Star walking away.

I felt deceived, angry, aggravated and what is worse hungry!

How can we read through the people that reach out for help?

How do we know if they are really hungry?

Aren’t we supposed to help the needy?

My journey at the station did not finished there, but I manage to continue my train journey back to my next hotel.

I totally believe that we must work to earn every euro/dollar, I gladly help someone selling flowers or water because at least they are making the effort instead of just extending a hand. And the truth is that I swear every dime I earn.

I know this is not a singular story perhaps happens to you all the time, but I can’t stop wondering How should I react next time?

Situations like this are the reason most people just ignored them?

Things To Prepare For Disable Person Before Traveling

Unlike in the past, today people with disabilities have been recognized, and are less discriminated against. In many countries there are legislations that protect them and make their life a little easier. Also many public buildings have been designed or renovated in order to accommodate people with disabilities.

With all these improvements, people with disabilities are now able to travel for vacation or a business trip to places far away from their home. However, with all these improvements we have made, travelling for people with disabilities is still a challenge for them, especially when they are travelling alone or, they are travelling to an unknown destination. Below is a guide to help people with all forms of disabilities to travel safely.

1. Plan well in advance
Planning is key to any form of success. This is very important because it reduces chances of getting stranded and being inconvenienced. Booking flights and hotel rooms are the top priorities, however if you are going to stay at a friend’s or a relative’s house; notifying them in advance is very important. Then they can be prepared and even pick you up from the airport.

2. Book hotels that are disabled friendly
Hotels with disabled friendly structures are very convenient as they allow disabled individuals to move freely with minimal effort. Most of these hotels also have special emergency protocols that ensure disabled individuals are not left behind in case of an emergency, unlike some hotels where these issues are over looked.

3. Use a travel agent that offers travel packages for disabled travelers
Booking flights and hotel rooms with travel agents that offer travel solutions to disabled people is advantageous in a number of ways. They ensure they book for their disabled clients airlines and hotels that are disabled friendly. They strive to offer services and suggestions that will ensure their clients travel comfortably.

4. Understand and know your rights when at the airport
Travelling, for people with disabilities, is very hectic, especially when they arrive at the airport. They face the challenge of getting proper information and directions. This is further aggravated by the huge number of people traveling and long queues. In airports, there are attendants that are supposed to attend to the needs of those travelling with disabilities.

Disabled travelers should not, and are not, treated differently when they go through security measures. They are also protected from any form of discrimination from any airline. Disabled travelers are advised to be very conversant with their rights to avoid and report any form of discrimination when travelling.

5. Bring extra medication
There is no harm in carrying an extra dose of medication when travelling. People do lose their luggage as they travel so, having an extra dose will act as a backup when one dose gets lost. This also ensures that when travelling, a disabled person does not run out of their medicine forcing them to start looking for a drug store when travelling. These medications should be stored properly to ensure their safety.

6. Take a doctor’s note and contact information when travelling
A doctor’s note contains important information about a condition that a disabled person is facing and this will help doctors save a lot of time on tests in case of an emergency. Contact information for your doctor allows other doctors to get important information from your doctor should the need arise. This small, but vital, information can save lives.

7. Use direct flights
It is very hectic and tiresome for a disabled traveler to use connecting flights. Using connecting flights exposes them to loss of their luggage and even injury as they get in and out of a plane. Using a direct flight cuts all these risks down and saves a lot time and energy when travelling. Direct flights also ensure that those travelling with disabilities are not stranded in an airport as they wait for a connecting flight.

8. Disabled travelers are advised to have some knowledge about where they are travelling to
There is nothing more difficult than looking for directions to a place you do not know about. This is even harder for disabled travelers so, it is advisable to have at least some knowledge and understanding about their destination. This will give them an upper hand when moving around and the knowledge to know where to go and where not to go. This will be very helpful when they are stranded or experience an emergency situation and need urgent assistance.

9. Carry the appropriate luggage
Disabled travelers are advised to carry luggage that they can manage when they are travelling. Unless they have company, travelling with a huge amount of luggage is not easy. Traveling lightly enables disabled travelers to be more flexible to situations that arise besides, a large amount of luggage can also easily get lost.

10. Enjoy travelling
Many disabled people do not travel often because of a lot of limitations which discourages them. However modern technology ensures safe travel for all regardless of their condition. Travelling should be enjoyed by all since it is a chance to experience new things that are different than what they are used to.
